Ramp Building
Twice a year, Suncreek UMC Volunteers, in association with The Dallas Ramp Project of the Kiwanis Club of Richardson, build access ramps onto the homes of those who would otherwise be homebound. This enormously satisfying work meets a huge need and is a lot of fun for men, women and older youth. Projects are complete in a few hours, providing a huge sense of accomplishment. Our next project date will be announced soon.
Annual Suncreek Shoe Ministry During this event our goal is to bless 150 children from Boyd Elementary and other schools in Allen with new shoes and socks. Boyd Elementary has an alarming rate of 80% of their enrollment living at or below the poverty level. The children receive new shoes at the first of the year through another organization but by the spring they have outgrown or worn out these shoes. This event is such a blessing to the parents and the children and they leave with huge smiles on their faces and much happier feet. Our goal each year is to collect over $2,000 so we can continue to bless as many children with the shoes they need to remain healthy and active. Your generosity helps us make sure that as many children in Allen that need new shoes can receive them.
Hope’s Door Dinners We need volunteers that will help provide dinner for the clients at the Hope's Door women's shelter in Plano on the 1st Monday of every month. Please click on Sign Up below for available dates and more information. Contact: Catey Smith 972-467-5318 or or SIGN UP HERE

Project Transformation Suncreek has partnered with Project Transformation for over 15 years. Their mission is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support children in holistic development, and connect churches with their communities. To volunteer or for more details please email missions@suncreekumc.org.
Christmas Family Connection The main event takes place near the beginning of December each year, and everyone is invited to participate in this much loved Christmas outreach ministry. When you are partnered with a family, you will be given a list of items each family member needs for Christmas. The families at the Boys and Girls Club of Dallas (formerly Trinity River Mission) have performed numerous service hours in order to participate in this ministry. If you are unable to take on a complete family by yourself we can help partner you with another Suncreek church member to do it together. We also take monetary donations so the mission committee can purchase items for the families that do not have a partner. This is an amazing ministry that will bring the true meaning of Christmas into your family and busy lives.
Deliver Meals for Hope’s Door Dinners: Suncreek UMC provides dinners for the women and their children at the women’s shelter in Plano the first Monday of every month. They generally need food for about twenty people. It is great to partner with one or two friends to provide the dinner if you do not want to provide the dinner all on your own. The women are so grateful for the meals and the support.
The need for domestic abuse shelters has greatly increased during the pandemic. The news reports that domestic violence is set to soar by 20% during the global lockdown.
Suncreek has been partnering with this ministry for over 15 years. Many of the clients from the shelter receive amazing blessings through Suncreek’s New Hope ministry when they are able to go into their own apartment and start a fresh life when they leave the shelter.
For more details or to volunteer please email missions@suncreekumc.org.
Cell Phones for Soldiers Suncreek missions collect used cell phones to help support our American soldiers through the ministry of Cell Phones for Soldiers. Please recycle your cell phones by bringing them to the mission bins located in the church narthex. Cell phones for Soldiers sell your used phones and then use the money to purchase phone cards for our troops. To a military family, a phone call home is priceless. Cell Phones for Soldiers addresses an everyday emotional need that everyone has experienced: the need to call home, to hear a familiar voice while far away. Please help our troops stay connected by donating your used cell phones today.
