As a young lad, the two most memorable stories I gleaned from God's word was a) the staying of Abraham's hand after Issac (his son) was placed on an altar. God had provided a ram caught in the thicket, placed there by God as a substitute sacrifice and b) the slaying of the mighty warrior Goliath by a shepherd boy named David, who used a slingshot to kill him. Both Abraham and David called on the name of Almighty God.
Facing new found challenges can be daunting, but if you turn to Jesus for guidance, your anxieties will ease. Have you ever faced something new in your life and been confused about what Jesus was doing? How much is Jesus really involved in your life's circumstances? We're never not at the center of Jesus' attention. Unfamiliar territory makes one more unsettled, scared, fearful, uncertain, anxious. Jesus intimately knows your todays and your tomorrows. Just like Abraham and David, you are being led along life's paths by the mighty hand of our loving Father. Have you ever found God powerfully present ...in your trauma situations? Remember, God always provides a "ramin the thicket", just call upon His name.
Psalm 32:8 - "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you."
John 14:27 - Jesus said ..."I am giving you a gift - peace of mind and heart... not like the world gives... so don't be troubled or afraid."
Meditate: Ask Jesus for eyes to look for Him and a heart to see and respond to Him. Be ready for Him to do something new in your life.
