Status Report
SUMC BUILDING COMMITTEE

  • Developed two subcommittees to work with architects – Interiors Subcommittee and another committee to discuss structural and mechanical systems. These committees have been meeting separately from full Building Committee.
  • Discussing scheduling of construction involving playground relocation, asbestos abatement, building teardown, etc. New building scheduling must work with church school schedule.
  • Received proposal for asbestos abatement.
  • Civil / surveying contract has been signed and surveyors currently completing site survey starting at playground relocation area which has been determined to be at south end of property around two existing large trees where temporary parking used to be.
  • Geotech Report needed for foundation design, has just been completed.
  • Architects have developed basic floor plan for new building and have presented two reiterations and refinements based on Building Committee and interior Sub-committee input.
  • Next Building Committee meeting will be in early December.
