Boyd Elementary Summer Lunch - See Photosboyd_lunch_pic.jpg
The Boyd Summer Lunch program brings the churches of Allen together to help the students and families that live near Boyd Elementary have a healthy lunch during the summer months. The ministry was started through the Allen Ministerial Alliance. Through this ministry the churches provide lunch for the families along with crafts, games, and fellowship.  Boyd Elementary has 80% of their students on free or reduced lunches.  These families would struggle during the summer months to provide nutritious meals for their children. The program also provides a way for churches to reach out to this community and provide the children with fun activities and events the can look forward to throughout the summer.  Each of the churches who participate chose a week in the summer to have a wonderful and rewarding time playing and eating with the families.

Boo’s Bedding Ministry is a  ministry that was born to provide a bright surrounding for people that spend most of their time in bed due to illness or disabilities. The adjustable beds they need are typically brown metal.  When I saw the bed that was delivered for my mother, who was affectionately  called Boo by her grandchildren, the first thought that came to me was that she wouldn’t want to stare at the brown end of the bed. She had always had a love of decorating and having things look warm and inviting. The first Boo’s bedding was created. When my husband, Ron Jones, entered Hospice the same style of brown metal bed was delivered to our living room.
After sharing what I created for my mom, Olga and I felt a spark to create the same loving, warm environment for others.  With prayerful consideration and much joy, we started Boo's Bedding Ministry. Please contact Katie Jones and/or Olga Binford at  for any information.

Ramp Building

Twice a year, Suncreek UMC Volunteers, in association with The Dallas Ramp Project of the Kiwanis Club of Richardson, build access ramps onto the homes of those who would otherwise be homebound. This enormously satisfying work meets a huge need and is a lot of fun for men, women and older youth. Projects are complete in a few hours, providing a huge sense of accomplishment. To volunteer, send an e-mail message to .

Communion Offerings
Suncreek UMC designates mission beneficiaries for the monthly communion offering. Persons donate by leaving a gift at the altar rail when they come forward to take communion. Past communion offerings have benefited Florida Hurricane Relief,
Dallas Ramps, ZOE Minsitries, English Camp in the Czech Republic and more.

Cell Phones for Soldiers
Suncreek missions collect used cell phones to help support our American soldiers through the ministry of Cell Phones for Soldiers.  Please recycle your cell phones by bringing them to the mission bins located in the church narthex.  Cell phones for Soldiers sell your used phones and then use the money to purchase phone cards for our troops.  To a military family, a phone call home is priceless. Cell Phones for Soldiers addresses an everyday emotional need that everyone has experienced: the need to call home, to hear a familiar voice while far away.  Please help our troops stay connected by donating your used cell phones today.
