Together We Can.

Love Takes Action is a movement started by the United Methodists in the Allen area as a response to the mass shooting on Saturday, May 6th at the Allen Outlet Mall. In our two gatherings, we are so pleased that the movement has moved beyond just the United Methodists to include members of other faith communities as well.

We feel that the time is now to mobilize people of goodwill to make clear to our elected leaders that we do not accept the violence of mass shootings as a normal part of our life. At this time, we are focusing on the following four areas of action.

Advocating for Gun Law Reform
Connecting People to Mental Health Resources
Safety & Crisis Response
Teaching Tolerance & Acceptance

Our goal is to have a resource person in these areas to assist in the conversation. We will continue to reach out to leaders of other faith communities in Allen so that we can have a unified community voice from people of faith to speak to our elected leaders and demand action.
