Suncreek United Methodist Men (UMM) is a supportive fellowship of men seeking to know Jesus Christ and in turn grow spiritually. UMM does this through a common bond of Fellowship, Outreach, Witness, and Service. UMM is founded in the sincere belief that God calls us to be spiritual leaders in our communities, and to be stronger husbands, fathers, mentors, employees, and friends.

Monthly Tuesday Evening Meetings

Join us for our regular meetings at 7:00 pm, the first Tuesday of each month. The meetings take place at various member's houses. For more information on the next meeting, contact Steve Bohn at umm@suncreekumc.org.

We are gathering at 7:00 pm next Tuesday night, Feb. 2nd for fellowship at John Spencer’s home at 1206 Shadetree Lane – Allen, TX 75013.  Click Here for the Mapquest link.

In the spirit of preparing for the Super Bowl game, we are entering the “Fourth Quarter” of the devotional series called “UNcommon: Finding Your Path to Significance.”  Super Bowl-winning coach and #1 New York Times best selling author Tony Dungy has had an unusual opportunity to reflect on what it takes to achieve significance.  He is looked to by many as the epitome of the success and significance that is highly valued in our culture.  He also works every day with young men who are trying to achieve significance through football and all that goes with a professional athletic career-such as money, power and celebrity.  Coach Dungy has had all that, but he passionately believes that there is a different path to significance, a path characterized by attitudes, ambitions and allegiances that are too rare but uncommonly rewarding. UNcommon” reveals lessons on achieving significance that the coach has learned from his remarkable parents, his athletic and coaching career, his mentors, and his journey with God. Coach Dungy’s Assistant Coach, Michael Marlowe will lead the charge into the Fourth Quarter of the Super Bowl game with an inspiring video and discussion where we will hear key messages about what it means to be a man of significance in a culture that is offering young men positive role models.  Invite and bring a friend to the meeting. For more information, please contact Steve Bohn at umm@suncreekumc.org or 214-914-4763.

Through these meetings we seek to actively support the United Methodist Church, Suncreek United Methodist Church, and the Community and its youth. To broaden our meeting discussions, church and community leaders are invited to attend as guest speakers, providing insight and interest to issues that impact us. In recent past, we have enjoyed the company of Bill Rushing - Allen Chief of Police, Tim Dentler - Allen Parks and Recreation Director, Ellen Palmer - church liaison for UMCOR, and Tony Hill - Allen Recreational Services Manager and former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver.

lfd_book_cover.jpgLetters from Dad Men's Ministry

Suncreek Connections and UMM sponsored the "Letters from Dad" series this past Spring. There were 38 men who participated in the legacy small group sessions. Letters from Dad helps fathers share things they have always wanted to say but didn't know how.

For more information on the next series, call or e-mail Scott Vedane at 214.206.8436 or umm@suncreekumc.org.
Men's Spiritual Study Group
This group meets every other Wednesday in Room B107. It was started by SUMM to provide an avenue for spiritual study of topics of interest to all men, while deepening our understanding of God's word. For more information, contact Chris Jones, the group leader.

Allen Community Outreach
We volunteer our time to support Allen Community Outreach, which provides emergency assistance to families in the Allen, Lucas, and Fairview area.

Other Ways We Help
The United Methodist Men seek to support Suncreek UMC in a variety of ways. Members of our group often volunteer to help with other Church projects. We participate in Amigos Days (a Dallas home repair and church renewal project), Ramp and Roll (construction of ramps for the disabled), and the annual church-wide garage sale.
